INGREDIENTS
- 2-3 tablespoons peanut oil
- Beef, thinly sliced
- Marinade: 1-2 tablespoons each of soy sauce and red cooking wine; 1 teaspoon sesame oil; 1 teaspoon corn starch
- 2-3 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2-3 green onions, chopped
- Diced white or red onion (one small or half a large onion)
- Green bell pepper cut into large pieces
- Thinly sliced ginger (about half inch piece)
- For some heat: 1-2 chopped fresh red chili peppers, 3-4 dried red chillies, broken in half
- Several tablespoons Chinese red cooking wine
- 1-2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon Szechuan black bean chili paste
- Cup of water
- Chopped green onions, ground black pepper, and sesame oil for garnish
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
- Mix the thinly sliced beef with the marinade and let sit for 15-30 minutes.
- Heat peanut oil in a wok on high.
- Add the garlic, green onions, red chilies, and dried red chilies and stir fry.
- Add the beef and stir fry until until the beef starts to brown lightly.
- Add the red cooking wine and stir fry.
- Add the red or white onions and stir fry until broken up.
- Add the oyster sauce and black bean chili paste and stir fry.
- Add the Green bell peppers.
- Add some water to make a sauce.
- Cook for about 5 minutes.
- Plate and sprinkle with cut green onions, black pepper, and sesame oil.
